Author: MSL - U166666
In honor of Al's newest album, I have updated my Guide Entry.

Which bits are updated, MSL? It looks to be just the additional information about the new album, which to be fair should not necessitate a resubmission to Peer Review. Would you mind removing this from Peer Review and just posting the update to the Conversation threads underneath the Edited Entry? That is really what they are for, after all.
Thanks for the update though

Jimster - the updates did go through update HQ, but i've heard that closed down and now people are informed to submit entry updates to pr. that's what happened with the Star Wars entry whic was sent through pr and then recommended. i think the enty is probably updated after then, but i need to check though.

Spook, that's not quite the case. If it's a significant upate to the point where it's effectively a rewrite, it can be submitted to PR. If it's just a paragraph or two, it can be posted to the entry, as with any other additional information. If it's a line or a correction, Editorial Feedback's the best place to submit it.

Update HQ has *not* closed down and stuff can still be submitted there, particularly if it's only changing small things or adding a couple of paragraphs to update an entry. Jimi X and Mikey the Humming Mouse know much more than me about it, however. For very small changes - typos, broken links and the like, I think I'm right in saying <./>Feedback-Editorial</.> will suffice. (Is that right, Jimster?)
However, if it's a major rewrite of an Entry that made it into the EG back in the days when h2g2 was less picky, then perhaps at the moment it's best to submit it to PR so it can be judged accordingly by its peer group...

Where is Update HQ?
MSL Posted May 26, 2003
I did not know there was an Update HQ. I can not seem to find it, either. Can anyone give me a link to it, or instructions to post to it?

I submitted an entry to PR (Calvin and Hobbes) rather than Update HQ as well as Star Wars, Cananda and probably others.

It looks like this entry went through Update HQ...
It says that on the HQ main page. It says-
These are merely some of the Edited Entries which have had a major overhaul via the Updating Process.

MSL - as Jodan says, Update HQ is at A496451... it *is* there if you do an h2g2 search for 'Update HQ'.
Jodan - this entry may have been through Update HQ before, but as it's another change to reflect Weird Al's latest album, I don't see why another update can't be done. It's great that any researcher should show such commitment to keeping their entry up to date!

Is anyone doing anything with A864858? It's been sat around at the HQ since November.

I know it's fine to do another update, but I just found it odd that the author who wrote the update didn't know where Update Headquarters was...
But I was just trying to imply it...

Okay, now I see the entry listed in Update HQ, except the Edited entry has not been updated, yet! Take a look for yourself, the Official Edited version says "at least 10 albums", my Updated draft says "at least 11 albums". (But, that of course was not the only change, only the easiest to find).
I also added some stuff the the Popular Songs table, and reworded a few things for clarity. Not really a major overhaul, but significant enough to warrant an update, I reckon.
What's to be done, now?!!!

Well, I think the first thing to be done is to remove this thread from Peer Review. That can be done by clicking on this link:

The Update HQ doesn't move insanely quickly -- there are only 2 of us subeditors who do updates as of right now, although relatively soon there will be more of us. If all the details regarding what needs to be updated have been posted to the Update HQ, then all you really need to do is wait for the update to happen -- it won't happen immediately -- there's a queue of sorts, and it will happen when Jimi X has time to get 'round to it. Or, quite possibly, the new update scheme will get up and running, and it will be taken care of there. Either way, it's kind of a sit back and wait deal for you at the moment. Once you remove this from Peer Review, that is.
