So, Al wrote a parody of a Coolio song that was a "parody" of a Stevie Wonder song...
Actually, I knew Stevie Wonder had something to do with that song, but it was Coolio that gave Al problems.

Coolio "actulized / re-worked" some of the text is better discription.
I am not sure if Coolio, if he asked for permission at first, but when it was it to released on orginal soundtrack for Dangerous Minds. he (or makers of movie) did ask permission. the song was already recorded.

I hope you realize that "Coolio gives permission" - story is either a publicity stunt or some artists joking around. both artists have great sense of humor.
