I hope the trial period on URLs goes well, but I can't imagine it would be enough of a problem, even if a few bad apples tried to mess it up, to prevent this policy from finally evaporating.

Have you seen the One Year of BBC Celebration page at A689628? I'm eager to see if the new strategy will catch on, overpowering moderation by encouraging traffic on h2g2. If it could work, or pull down the moderation Wall earlier, it would be so beautiful, because they can't complain about us trying to bring in more researchers and increase traffic.

*handing in my beret* well, we got urls back, which i thought was important, awhile ago in fact but i hadn't got around to this. and i do see the problem with pictures, really, especially since you still see articles in PR that are very much plagerized, put there by people that i choose to believe just don't understand the copyright rules, and picture have the same problem while being much more difficult to check. i still don't agree with moderation, but they really have eased up on it a lot since the beginning and besides there are some instances(can't remember specifically but i do know that they were there) that have made me doubt my stance on it, in some cases it might be a good idea although i hate that they would happen at all in such a friendly place as h2g2.

Sorry, Andrew. I added your u# to the list of names back in July, but didn't double-check it very well. Apparently if you write a lower case u196900 instead of uppercase U196900 in GuideML, it lists that person as "Researcher" instead of "Andrew Wyld [kt:'Burning Pestle', Zaph.]"

If you were to cast your mind back to "A New York Yankee at the Court of King Arthur", you would figure it out.

"[kt:'Burning Pestle', Zaph.]" = Knight (of the Order of the) Burning Pestle. As to who allowed or encouraged the Pestle to burn, I am not able nor, I suspect, worthy to say.
