The staff usually say that they don't discuss moderation decisions on site. What you are supposed to do is reply to the email which you should have been sent. Of course it would help if they put the precise reason into the email in the first place. In your case though, the page has only been temporarily hidden, so the email won't even have been sent out yet.
The most likely reasons to have your page hidden are:
- having your personal details and suspected of being underage.
- having someone else's personal details.
- saying something offensive (bit contentious what qualifies there).
- displaying copyright images or text (again not always clear cut).
If you think one of these applies, you could go ahead and edit your page to remove the problem before getting an email (the moderators would then look at the page again).

They don't know your age - which could be the point. It is worth checking the <./>HouseRules</.> in case there is something you missed but if it were obvious the page would have been completely failed in the first place instead of temporarily hidden - which is possibly more annoying. The external moderators will have referred it to the internal BBC staff and they won't be back in until tomorrow morning to even start going through their messages. Note that the site will be down at 9am anyway for some network changes (see <./>Announcements</.> or F77636?thread=367457). So there may be a longer delay because of this.

Have you asked for a reason why, Rachel? If you have been moderated, you will have been sent an email explaining why. If you need further explanation, simply reply to the email that was sent to you and you will receive a response within normal working hours.

Sorry, Rachel, I've just noticed you're registered with TalkBuffy, not h2g2. You need to contact the Cult team to find out why your page has been hidden.

The H2G2 Editors Posted Jul 30, 2004
Hi Rachel,
Are you mainly a Talk Buffy member, or an h2g2 one? It would be possible to move your account over to us if you desired.
We've been able to discover what has happened to your page. Someone mistook it for a technical error, but the problem is you've tried to use GuideML (the DNA mark-up language) but you've missed some tags off.
Firstly, if you click 'Edit Page' you will find an option to convert the page to GuideML. Click that and then press the 'Change Style' button. Now, you need to add to the very beginning of the page and to the end.
You also have some lines of open text at the beginning and end of the page. Add a tag to the beginning of each line and a tag to the end of each line.
Now press submit and you should get your page back. If that doesn't work, let us know.
Best of luck,
h2g2 Team

Hi Rachel
You're nearly there.
Edit your page and click on the 'GuideML' radio button.
Click on change style.
Then correct the first line of your current code so that it ends with and not
Double check that your code begins with and ends with and that the system hasn't inserted any extra GUIDE and BODY tags.
If you can see any tags, delete them.
Then press 'Update Introduction'

You've got a lot of code there. You could cut and paste all the tables in the middle of the code and start off with something simpler. Then add the tables one at a time until you figure out which one is causing the problem.
Make sure you have just one set of GUIDE and BODY tags.

Emmily ~ Roses are red, Peas are green, My face is a laugh, But yours is a scream Posted Aug 2, 2004
Hi Rachel
I copied and pasted your Intro to a Guide Entry to try it out, you can see what it'll look like after a couple of changes here - A2884520
As has already been said you need to scroll down, click on the GuideML and 'change style' That will automatically add the opening tags at the top of your entry and the closing tags at the bottom of you entry.
Before you do that, delete any already in the entry, or you'll have too many.
Also, here - hi i am cassie from the scoobies Replace with
And that should do it
If you let me know when you've sorted it, I'll delete the entry from my page

ooopppss Rachel, I sent above post at around 3am, when I couldn't sleep, and missed reading your Post 11, you've already clicked to change to GuideML so no need to do it again
The good news is, it's just a few minor changes for your intro to 'work'
The top of your Intro looks this;
hi i am cassie the scoobies
hi i am cassie from the scoobies
change it to look like this;
hi i am cassie the scoobies
hi i am cassie from the scoobies
And at the bottom, delete
Good Luck

Hi Rachel,
If you want to move your page from TalkBuffy onto h2g2, drop us a line at h2g2.feedbackATbbc.co.uk (replacing the word AT with the @ symbol) and we'll see what we can do.

HEY
what does it mean when it says:
Only one top level element is allowed in an XML document.
coz it always seems to come up with that on the page
thanx again

It probably means you are still getting the outer tags wrong, eg that closing tag near the start. It is very important to open and close tags in the correct order.

Hi Rahcel.
The very first thing that needs to appear in that window is the following:
Copy that into your page straight away.
The first line of your current page reads:
hi i am cassie from the scoobies
You need to change that '' and swap it for a otherwise your page won't work.
Finally, rememebr to click that 'GuideML' option and press the 'Change Style' button.
If you do this, your page will work fine
