I'll be honest, I feel like I would have taken one look at the fellow and feigned a misunderstanding. Very brave of you to actually rise up to the challenge and keep your composure, Rich.

The best athletic feats I've ever accomplished have largely been due to things like wind, opponent errors and successful replication of what I've seen in films. In my book, wind-assisted success counts nothing less, and sometimes twice, depending on the mood.

Thanks for the read, Rich.

Brave? smiley - laugh Yeah, maybe. This happens to me in foreign countries; I get so far with a daft idea, then realise I'm in too deep to make my excuses and change my mind!

When I re-read this, I realised that I probably hadn't emphasised exactly how good Alex was. The three shots I describe were the only three I managed to hit past him in the whole hour we played, and as a result I may have made myself sound rather more heroic than I was...
