Hi! I'm Yael, or Elly, if you like it better, and guess what- I live in a kibbutz!!
We've had volunteers here 'till few years ago, but we can't afford them (and their drugs...) anymore 
.
Few comments on your entry:
1. Where did you volunteer? Where are you from?
2. What IS wrong with salad for breakfast?!
3. We have an equal number of male and female ex-volunteers who stayed here and got married, some even married each other...
4. Please, please, please - recommend on sun block lotions, the amounts of Skin Cancer victims here are rising each year!!!
5. The favoured countries for volunteers are South Africa, Holland and Sweden, as far as I can tell.
6. As a child, I lived in a communal Bet Yeladim (Kinder garden), 'till the age of 6, and I'm only 23! And also, I know that the 2 1st born children in my kibbutz had a meeting regarding their names when they were born. That's socialism for you!
7. The refet is considered both a good and very highly regarded working place, and a ground point for romance, mind you...
