Yes, but Alex is a dedicated Edited Entry writer, with 110 entries to his name. He knows what he's doing.

Thanks Gnomon.
Shagbark - I'm quite happy for you to state your opinion, but you did start off by asking a silly question.

I apologise if my question seemed silly but I have seen serious publications that had April Fools articles printed and it was the beginning of April when this popped up.

I rather liked it. Rather but I like it all the more for that. I don't think there are enough Entries in this vein!
And I thought it was an Icy Entry too.

I suppose we should be thankful that this slogan predates the grocer's apostrophe
Good fun entry. Might it be worth mentioning any other similar unfortunate instructions?

I knew you'd say that, I'm thinking hard. I feel sure there are some!
I recall something in Winnie the Pooh about Trespassers Will be prosecuted

I seem to remember Piglet living in the woods "under the name of Saunders"
(Not sure this stuff needs adding to the entry, though, unless you can make a witty aside out of it)

Actually, it Pooh who lived under the name of Saunders.
Piglet lived beside a sign which said Trespassers W, which Piglet knew was short for Trespassers Will, which in turn was short for Trespassers William, the presumed name of Piglet's grandfather.

There is the 'No Fly Posters!' of course.
I can just imagine hoards of entomologists swarming over the town sticking giant posters of their favourite Drosophila or Calliphora for others to over.
The only other reason I can think of is if you are the Jeff Goldblum's Agent.
Well done!

I really like this, but to me it's always been 'Bill Stickers'. Could you add in his 'brother' Bill Stickers is also persecuted.
Google seems to give equal weight to each in an image search.

The white stuff on the windows used to be windolene in the olden days.
I'd like to know if anyone has actually been prosecuted for Bill Posting? I have a feeling it's an idle threat.
Nice one.

TRiG (Ireland) A dog, so bade in office Posted May 4, 2009
Neighbours meet, by and by.
How much does it cost to post a fly?
This question appeared on a "hunter" route quiz we took once, organised by a friend, and referred to the "No fly posting" signs on the backs of the "Welcome to Offaly" and "Welcome to Westmeath" signs.

If this were a city Ordinance in the US the fine print would usually state the penalty for infraction.
Do these warnings in the UK say anything like a five pound penalty for posting there or do they leave the penalty unspecified?
Key: Complain about this post
