Oh well. Never mind. It's pretty - and I bet it's only been awarded to a lucky fewsmiley - laugh

I'll give it another couple of days and then, if they haven't told me what's decided, I'll ask them.

Thanks GBsmiley - ok

Can't find it anywhere. Situation reminiscent of the passage from the h2g2 novel set in the restaurant at the end of the world, that put Arthur Dent into so much shock he opened his sandwich shop in the sequel.

I could only barely force myself to watch that scene, viewing the BBC series based on the novel recently.

Chews corner of towel.

Hi ITIWBS. Good to see you!smiley - ok

I bet it will come back at some point. I have a copy of it somewhere... an old computer, under a pile of books in the spare bedroom. If it doesn't come back on it's own, I might dig it out, put the entry back myself... see what happens... see if the mad mods are still about and active.

What was so shocking that Aruther resorted to sandwiches? I can't remember. It's a while since I read the books.

My towel's a bit chewed too... must remember to wash it...

It was the traumatic experience with the consenting entree at "The Restaurant at the End of the World" (Dramatized in episode 6 of the BBC TV series "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy", an utterly appalling scene) that motivated Arthur Dent to restrict his sandwich fillings to 'perfectly ordinary herd animals' in the sequel to "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy".

I remember something like that now ITIWBS. Didn't he ask for a green salad in the series?

Think I'll have to dig out an old computer to lift it and paste it lil. I will get round to it if it doesn't turn up of its own accord.

Had a bit of a game getting back in here. I changed my sign-in name and PW for re-reg and just spent a frustrating while going through all the possible permutations of what it might be. I'm still a bit if a div... just like the old BBC h2g2 mesmiley - rolleyes

Thing was, the trauma and the horror of it were apparently still with Arthur Dent in the sequel. ..maybe I'm reading too much between the lines.
