He was advertising the new Dr. Who thing's URL in his name. That's against the T&C's Poor Lad.
Wow
Munchkin Posted Jul 16, 2001
And lo it was stated from on high, no Url's shall you nickname-ise.
And there was much trembling in the land.
And then a young spod, by the number of 55447, did fail to notice the rule
And lo, did he advertise a BBC event in his nickname.
And there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth from on high.
And lo did he feel sorry, and apologise and sow his name with quicklime, such that it could not happen again.
And thus were the mighty brought low and made humble.

Babel17 Posted Jul 16, 2001
And verily it did come about that in actual fact, the mighty, were not that lofty after all, and so didst not hurt themselves whilst being brought low

I think so. I'm sure the neighbour only pointed it out (soon after I moved in) because he wanted to me. Had the opposite effect though... standing outside at twilight watching the little darlings. Haven't identified the species yet...
Another good reason for a telephoto lens.

That is really cool. Last October on holiday I saw Fruit . What a size. Cruising over the palm trees. Must have had a wing span of a couple of feet at least. Huge things! You'd need a wide angle lens for that

Road to the Isles wasn't it? Remind me of some words... I might remember the tune.
Otherwise a long search through a plethora of tartan vinyl may be necessary.
Wow
Babel17 Posted Jul 16, 2001
Oh no, please not the tartan aural torture again
I've been spending the last 15 years trying to get away from it.
Seriously tho, I started a country and western song today.
Gah! I've forgotten the name. I knew I should have written it down.
Oh yes "Swindlin' Charlie" It's about a confidence trickster.
That's all I have so far. and a tune. Sometimes I am inspired, just not often enough to make a career out of it

$u$ Posted Jul 16, 2001
'Swindlin' Charlie' wouldn't happen to come from Crianlarich would he?
*starts searching through the records*

Babel17 Posted Jul 18, 2001
Unfortunately not, no. I assume him to be of American origin, travelling around the country cheatin' and a lyin' his way into money to survive on. He is a great card amongst other things.
'All Roads...' is definately a scottish song with bagpipes and guitars, a bit Runrig-esque.
