h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I wrote this before Christmas and didn't think to submit it, and then it was suggested that I might think about it. It's something I'm enthusiastic about, and I know that there are other enthusiasts on h2g2 who might be interested.

I like this entry a lot. I think it's well written and you get across the sense of the Morris well.

My grandad used to have a Morris Minor van, it was so excellent! I loved getting in the back and going down the allotments in it. He used to have the beam switch on the floor! I was always amazed at how he could switch the lights without me knowing how he did it (until I explored the footwell one day).

He also could rotar-start it if the battery was low - although this did his back in on several occasions.

Thanks for the encouraging words, both of you. I've been known to start a car 'on the handle' - I think it's a shame that you can't do it on modern cars.

I've had a look at the Mini entry, and it's good. I'll definitely put a link in.

A well-written entry, definately. It not only deserves, but needs to be in the approved guide.
I've grown up with a Morris Minor. My Dad always said "Riding in a Morris Minor is just like sex - you never forget your first time." And I must admit it's true.
