I need to lose some weight.
I am going on Holiday in October and have calculated that if I lose 2 pounds a week I should be at least 3 stone lighter by then....and so much happier and healthier
I have lost in the past but piled it back on.
Can someone recomend a diet that helps you stay feeling full and satisifed for longer.
I am an emotional eater and evenings are the hard time for me
I am now starting to suffer heartburn etc due to having too much fat around my tummy and want to help allieviate it...plus being 42 I am worried about other health complications of being overweight...eg. diabetes

I like to start my day with either a bowl of porridge or a poached egg and toast.
lunch time as i am at work and often eat it at my desk, has to be a sandwich and fruit
Evenings...I am starving when I get home and my downfall his that I pick whilst cooking the evening meal. If I add it all up it probably amounts to eating an entire extra meal!...plus when clearing up afterwards I find it hard to throw away the left overs...they all end up being scoffed. I find I tend to cook more than required (not sure if I do this on purpose...but it dosnt help!)

First of all - welcome!
And I'm sure there are several of us who recognise our behaviour in your description...
Have you tried having a healthy snack between lunch and getting home to fix dinner?

I'm trying to drink more water as a cure for many things - apart from helping keep hunger pangs at bay. It's a bind - I must have a bad drinking technique or something.
But drinking more water does help with
digestion
headaches
clearer thinking
general feeling better
keeping systems going faster
clearer skin
less hankering for sweet stuff.
Can't help very constructively at the moment, but if you browse the threads here, you may find some helpful ideas - especially from kelli, who really lost a lot of weight for her wedding day.
Let us know how you get on. We can revive the Saturday weigh-ins, if you like - it would do all of us good, probably.

And welcome from me, too.
I'll change the table on the entry page, I think. It used to be a nifty graph, but then they stopped letting us have our own images on the site.

thank you all for the lovely welcome.
I have a positive frame today so lets hope I can keep it up.
What does the Saturday weigh in involve? Do we disclose our weight or our weight loss? IS it a set time we have to weigh in?
I would love to be included if thats ok.
I will miss one Saturday as I am away for Easter so weigh on my return, if thats alright

OK - well, post in your actual weight any time between now and 14 April. As from 14 April I'll try and keep the table up to date.
