When pressing the "add guide entry" button, I am alerted to "...not press this button again"

Also, as I have not spent much (any) time in the conversation strings up until now, do I need to keep refreshing to a new posting, or will new postings appear automatically?

You mean the conversation list on your personal space? Then the answer is no, an open page won't refresh (except for Who's online).
You can't push the save/update entry button more than once. If it of some reason doesn't "gets through", you'll have (for security) copy the entry, then either reload the page or click back and forward and then try again. Notice that the entry quite often *will* be updated, the proces just get stuck. (That's why there's so many double posts in the forums. You're not stopped from posting more than once here as you are in the edit entry page, but it works the same way)

Thank you.
I think I found a way around my problem (copy & paste on a new guide entry page).
We'll see if it works.
