In addition to the wonderful mouthful that is www out loud, I defy anyone to say that they can actually say AFAIK quicker, and with less spittle fired from their mouth, than just saying 'as far as I know'.

pronounce if aff-ache
there - no spittle
but then pronouncing acronyms phonetically may confuse less intelligent people (see my other post here!)

aff-ache = a fake? Then, instead of saying, "as far as I know, leapords don't eat cheese" you'd say, "a fake leopards don't eat cheese", which is a little silly and doesn't make sense.

But the whole point of abbreviations like this is that they're quicker to type online. I find myself expanding them when reading, rather than reading the abbreviation.
Remember - talk is cheap, but electrons are expensive.
