has some information about a Scottish study of elephant seals based in South Georgia. By supergluing little dataloggers on the seals' heads, the scientists can chart all kinds of undersea conditions. When the elephant seals come up for air, the data is relayed by satellite. Apparently the seals can dive as deep as 2km, and 200 bars pressure, which sounds amazing.
