I'm recommending this entry by Mr. Odie, because I think it's informative and instructive and slightly off-the-wall. There are a couple of comments and an odd "I" which a sub-ed will need to strip out, but essentially I reckon this is ready for the guide - I can't think of anything else that need be said...

Yers... well, I agree that it's informative and entertaining, but it still seems rather rough around the edges, as it were. (The entry, that is. I'll stop there.)

Generally, one full stop will suffice, unless you keep trailing off, like me, which doesn't make for very concise reading...

Basically, if it's neatened up a bit and shoved into the third person, it could be a very obscure addition to The Guide! I would however like to see some indication in the entry as to why on _earth_ anyone would want to wear them. Unless they're drunk, of course.

I'm missing a word as to the motivation for one to use them. I gather from the context that they aren't used for torturing. But what is it - more fun? masochism? interesting colours?

umm, and as we are at it - do they come in different sizes or is it 'one size fits all' ?

No - the shape would be elliptical in the same manner that the shape of handcuffs would be circular, however 3d your hands are...

I'm guessing the motivation is primarily "bondage", Bossel - would that be the word you're missing?

Well, after checking a dictionary it appears that elliptoid isn't a word! I disagree with your reasoning though, Lucinda - you don't describe a football as circular.

Oh - my bad - I though the word had been used to describe the cuffs, not the testicles... my memory is clearly losing it... Yeah - I guess "Ellipsoid" is the right word then rather than elliptical. Ho hum.

Yes, It definately would be a bondage thing. you would use them for the same reason that you would use handcuffs, or be tied up. It would also be possible to use them for masachistic purposes, but I think from the description that it would be unlikely.
If you are going to mention bondage, remember that it is about mutual trust.

Actually, I'm sure I heard somewhere that it's something to do with restricting blood flow. Probably masochistic in origin.

Actually, I have a better idea. I suggest a crisp packet (with some of the crispy bits and salt left in) secured with a thick elastic band, wound round several times. That should provide a 'satisfying' level of discomfort.

In all seriousness though (as if that were possible), I think there should be some attempt to explain the purpose of these testicle cuffs that goes beyond just /wearing them/ - to the reason why anyone would want to.

I don't recall saying self-inflicted torment was stylish, I merely implied that testicle cuffs were more stylish than an elastic band. Besides, it was only a little joke!

A purpose could be to get some attention at the airport when walking through the metal detectors....
Reason behind them? I should think if you were into BDSM you'd like that kind of stuff and need no further reason than that.
