Thanks MVP and ladies: honoured I am to have such esteemed company in the PR thread. Sarong-wearing tall poppy now has explanatory footnotes. And Michael Owen is now only once a teenage sensation.

Re: post 12 (sorry I seem to have missed that).
The Entry says "His death was the only football-related fatality of France ’98." Post 12 says that "German hooligans nearly beat a French policemen to death." Do you know if the French policeman has died, or if he remains "nearly" dead?
Thanks.

Sorry, misunderstanding of 'fatality' on my part.
He survived and is still alive, if only just, and is massively handicapped.

That is unfortunate. It adds perspective I see but I will not detract from the death of Mnsr. Lentin in the entry.
Unless as maybe the case, your French policeman was just one example of a number of acts of violence some of which did end in recorded fatalities?

It's the only one I can remember. I guess it was the only one discussed here at the time. I hadn't heard of the case you mention before. As I said, it was my wrong understanding of the word fatality, so there's no need for you to alter anything after all, except if somebody recalls other deaths as a result of the tournament.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

Thank you thank you. I'd do a lap of honour if I could, but failing that I'll just have a lap dance.
