...Douglas Adams...
It's now several years ago that I happened to hear someone talking about The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, quite accidentally, on the radio. I shook my head, thinking I must have hear wrong - there CAN'T be such a thing as a guide to the galaxy.
And then, like it sometimes is, those words seemed to be poppping up everywhere... radio, TV, newspapers, people talking - and it drove me nuts! Determined to find out what was going on, I managed to find the books - and bought them all, and read them everywhere, even on the commuter train, laughing out loud, with people staring at me!
And then I read something in a newspaper about a site called h2g2.com, checked it up - and joined! I've met so many people, and made so many new friends - with such a lovely twisted sence of humour! Thanks all, and thanks DNA!

Goodness - when I was going through old letters I discovered I've forgotten to light a candle for...
...Herr Braun, who died of old age, 90 years old...
...a small and wrinkled man, who stayed curious all his life - in the last years, he watched TV a lot, preferrably debates and documentaries, staying very much in touch with life...
...a man who travelled to the US when he was young, spent several years there, and then, when the depression came, sold his motor cycle and earned his way across the Atlantic back to Switzerland as a piano player on a cruiser...
...often asked to act as interpreter at various events, and constantly amazing people with his still very American accent...

For Sue,a very dear friend, who took her own life,November,1985.Just wish you could have talked to someone about what was troubling you.I'll always remember you with affection.
For my sister,Jenny, who died last year, without telling me she was seriously ill.I just wish we could have been closer and known each other better.
