For Paul Taylor, my first lover, who died of cancer aged 19.
For Eric Hall, killed by a drunk driver in 1978.
For Mick Harrison, my fiance, I can't believe you have been gone 4 years this month.
For Robin Peterson, my friend Vicki's son, you would have been 21 this year and a remarkable man.
For a very lovely woman, my dear friend Lucy Coggon, you died the day after my 40th birthday, I'm sure you hung on...

...my own RL personal guardian angel...
...this is a bit tricky, I doubt the existance of a god as described by my christian friends...
...but I'm definitely convinced that I have a guardian angel watching over me...
...second-sightedness seems to be running in the family on my mother's side, but not even one of my uncles, being VERY 2nd-sighted, manages to find out who my GA is, although he's been able to exclude several people...
...but still, oddly enough, I'm convinced I have a GA RL...

Halo, I am old enough to remember the disaster at Aberfan in the late 60's. I came home from school & my mum hugged me & she was crying. She told me there'd been an awful accident and over a hundred children wouldn't be going home to their mummies ever again...I am lighting another big candle for them tonight...and remembering their families...

... The Columbine victims, including the poor, confused young men who created the tragedy...
And anyone who ever felt threatened in their school...
To be a student is a wonderful venture... but to be a pupil of hatred... ::shakes her head::

Thanx Galaxy Babe.....things like Dunblane should never happen to children...you hear about all these poor people and it doesn't feel real!
My friend Loz used to be the teachers neighbour and when she heard, one of her brothers friends was in the PE class before the massacre! that just seemed to bring it home!
As did an email I recieved from a teenager from Columbine High telling about what had happened in the leading up to the shootings....I'd also like Dragonfly like to light a candle for the and all the other lives that have been taken in similar tragdeys

My uncle, who died from cancer six years ago. You were a helluva soccer-player, even after turning 50
And another one for the tragedy in Austria. They'll need all the candles they can get...

My great-grandmother, who saw so much in her 94 years and embraced change. She continues to be a source of strength through the dark times.

s for everyone here. Its so nice to know that I am part of this loving and giving a community.
I'll light a candle for all the dead in the renewed Middle Eastern conflicts. And one for peace - may she never die.
