Report official feedback and posts to newbies as simple and straight forward as possible?! 
Imagine it is someone who has no previous experience of what you are saying and you need to explain as concise, but clearly, what you are trying to say!

"Just noticed the huge number on the postings. Even trying to find some statistics is a tough job as the seach, the MP lists and the info do not show real old postings.
I had to track the search thread by browsing the Forums where it was likely to be. "
