Mr Dude, there's no need to tell me three times, I think I heard it the first time around
As for the suggested addition, I shall play around and see if I can come up with a third person wording for that particular sentiment, no doubt while I should be doing something far more important at work today

Congrats Caroo,
good work. I still have a proposal for you though, about the food vs. cider thing, in third person too:
---
...if you're part of a large social crowd this represents a cheap round. As one reseacher put it: "I used to come just for the cider. The food was an added bonus."
---
How about it?

Yeah! Let him off! Let him off!
Better yet, since this is a great and sunny day in autumn,
why not let everybody off!
*and there was much rejoicing*

For what it's worth, Chimes used to serve up a fantastically lethal seasonal cocktail. Apart from the cider, I have no idea what was in it. It was called Red Mullet, or Red Bullet, or something like that. (And no, it didn't have Red Bull in it - it was long before that hit the market).

They still do it, but only really in the summer. Same with the Haymaker, but if you ask the rest of the year you'll get it. Good system if you ask me. Pays to keep well in with the owner
Red Bullet is the one with Pimms in, isn't it?

Actually, all one has to do is rephrase the first-person sentence in the third person. '[Researchers] have gone to Chimes originally just for the cider, and found the food to be an added bonus.'
Oh, and I'm in the process of subing this article.

I like my original suggestion better, to be honest. It has more of a journalisticky feel to it. What's more, it's closer to the truth. It wasn't crowds of researchers that went there for said reason, it's one researcher who made the remark </nitpick)
Still, you're the sub, so do your stuff as you see fit. It's not even my article. What am I doing here? Duh?

Hm. I see that. I'll see what I come up with. I still have a couple of weeks to work this out.
