OK, this is an entry I wrote. It's about my 'local' in London, which is one of the most fabulous places for an evening out.
What's unusual about Chimes is that it specialises in cider - there's no beer or spirits served, just cider and wine. The food is gorgeous, the atmosphere is wonderful, the staff are great.
This place deserves some publicity, but not so much that I can't get in there h2g2 seemed like the perfect place to give them some credit and hopefully get other people to go along.

Good article. useful info, nice structuring. liked the humour at the end.
ABout structuring: do you know how to do a real header in GuideML?
Your paragraphs would be all that clearer.
For the header "FOOD", try typing, in the edit window, having switched to "GuideML"
Food
or
Food
And then try it with all the headers. Good luck

Thanks very much
The GuideML is a whole other conversation I've been over at the clinic trying to pick up some hints/tips, particularly as I've never hand written HTML before, usually going for the wysiwyg option.
Now I've got an idea of what I should be doing I shall certainly liven the formatting up a bit. And I think a couple of sentences at the beginning on atmosphere wouldn't go amiss.
Slightly updated version coming soon . . .

A dodgy night out in Camden? Never!
Camden's lovely during the day, but it does get a bit rough at night.
Let me know what you think of the place - it's a bit more sophis than your standard pub, but you won't find any Beautiful People there and it's usually nicely busy without being heaving.

Ta da!
Added the formatting for the headings and an extra sentence for the first paragraph.
How's that?

It looks good in Classic Goo - I'll try it in Alabaster tommorow when i'm more awake.
Re: Camden - Have you seen the photo on my page - I am one of those people who make it look a bit rough at night !

Hey come back I was only jokeing - I'm very respectable - honest.
With regard to the page looks good alabaster too. With reagard to the article here and our conversation over at the GuideMl clinic you might want to enclose the main body text in paragraph tags &
eg.
Chimes is a restaurant in the Victoria/Pimlico area of central London that specialises in English food and cider, especially cider. It has the perfect atmosphere for a night out - busy enough for a buzz without being heaving, classy enough to attract good quality custom but not so upmarket that it's overrun with Beautiful People.
Food
The main business of Chimes is serving excellent food. This can be eaten either in the bar or the restaurant section at the back. The mainstay of the menu are the most fabulous pies. We're talking *gourmet* pies here. Fillings include such delights as Pheasant, Orange and Walnut or Gammon with slices of Apple and are seriously chunky. No over-reliance on sauce, just big chunks of meat and vegetables. Each pie comes in its own little pottery bowl, with a pastry lid. Getting the pastry off the top is an art in itself, and usually results in pastry crumbs scattered across a three mile radius. There is also a set menu each day. This would typically include Smoked Mackerel Pate followed by Chicken in a Wine and Tarragon Sauce with a fruity-creamy dessert. Prices are reasonable, especially for central London. Pies typically cost between £6 and £10. The set meal is available as 2 courses for £8 or 3 for £12.
Cider
I think you get the idea.
This dosn't make a lot of differance when viewing in a normal browser but I belive it helps mobile devices and text only browsers.

In any case, the point isn't all that pressing, since the eds will do all that GuideML stuff anyway once the article gets landed.

We know that, but I've been helping the author out with GuideML in another forum.

Hey, hey, hey - calm down there chaps. There's no need to have the two of you fighting over this
Will add some paragraph tags in and let you know when that's done.
Thanks for the help

Re the first paragraph... I though that the main business of Chimes was selling excellent cider rather than food...
It looks like a very good article! The text is great, and I'm sure that the subs will be able to sort out the dodgy formatting...
Keep up the good work...

Thanks very much ::preens at praise::
I've added in the '' tags now, and feel like I'm learning all the time (with excellent teachers BTW - thanks)
As far as we were concerned the only reason to go to Chimes was for the cider. The food was an added bonus But it is really mostly a restaurant, and that's where the majority of their business comes from [except when we're in ], so we'd better mention it I suppose.

Did you put that line in the article?
I don't recall reading it.
It should be in there, remarks like 'I used to go just for the cider, the food is an added bonus' really give the reader a clue of how YOU experienced the place. It's an added bonus as well.
Just think to yourself: would the owner of the restaurant put honest bits of info like that in his brochure? no? then you should defnitely put it in

May I quote http://www.h2g2.com/SubEditors-Style
Write the entry in the third person.
This is for a very simple reason - each entry has the potential to
be updated with additional research from one or more
researchers1. If the initial entry is written in the first person, and
then a number of good points are added later, having a mixture of
first person narrative and third person would make the entry
inconsistent throughout. There are some rare exceptions to this
rule, usually on topics relating to medical matters from a very
personal perspective, such as Diabetes, but cases like these are
the only ones I can think of that we'd allow. For more information,
check out the points on combining entries in The Subbing
