You've made me hungry!
They sell good fresh shellfish at Weyfish in Weymouth Dorset and also at Wilsons, Portland, Dorset.
Must go tomorrow!

personally I find the bigger they are the less taste they have, especially when it comes to sucking out their heads and brains, while the smaller guys at around 6cm seems to process the optimal taste/volume of brain tissue, the bigger guys at 12 cm and they don't come much bigger then that....just don't seem to have any brains at all, I suppose that observation parallels a lot of the two legged carbon based life forms on some harmless planet in a lesser known star system, somewhere near Ursa Minor........still I digress. When it come to the flash, the smaller guys are tender and sweet while the giants have always been tough and chewy. When I have saved up enough to go to the party at the end of the universe you know what sort I will be asking to see prior to my main course but thats another story.

Its the giant prawns COOKING the barby you have to watch out for. they lurch from one disaster to another spilling the beer and fondling the guests. I once knew of one prawn who got caught speeding and used the lame excuse that they had just shelled out for a new car and were frying it out. The copper caught on straight away and trotted him off to the cooler.

Being a lover of prawns (heck I lived near the Great Barrier Reef), I have to say that medium to large prawns have the nicest flavour. Giant prawns are quite tough, heck I even saw one with a nose ring, actually I think it might have been a fishing hook.

Farm grown prawns are the most tasteless prawns I have had the opporunity to each. Given the chance I would prefer eating a giant prawn over a farm grown prawn.

Another thing about prawns are, they are in fact the under water version of the lovely cockroach. Yep this humble little, but tasty, shell fish, is in fact just like the very discusting, diaese ridden, icky looking pest, the common household cockroach.

Well, I am going to chuck another cockroach on the barbie, anyone want one? smiley - smiley
