I'm not really here

"The problem was I did not want to look at her journal, just because I happened to be subsribed to the hub."

smiley - erm Then don't subscribe to it. I must admit I'm amazed to see that a conversation about rules has ended up as a discussion about my journal. smiley - weird

Are you saying don't subsribe to the hub, because that is what you would be saying if you read the backlog right. smiley - tongueout

#1. Not subsribed to the user's conversations.
#2. Nor their journal.
#3. Not of any 'friends' list.
#4. Not in anyway subsribed to the journal.

#5.Subsribed to the hub.

#6. The user is 'ported' from h2g2 to the hub.
#7. People (-not just me-) subsribed to the hub would get threads shown in their *My Conversations* list mixed in with others (as you would currently expect).
#8. The hub threads (expecting hub conversations) would turn out to be the journal of one user in particular.
#9. Result, attempt to unsubsrive fro that one users journal, oersonal space, etc. Though unsubsribing from that never subsribed to does seem redundant, it's worth a try.
#10. Only cure, unsubribe from every part of the hub; become an 'active seeker' of selected conversations on the hub.

Yes indeed, very odd this twist, but if somebody had not decided to ignore my first post to this thread, and the secondary point of me e-mailing h2g2 staff about this thread. Or indeed understanding, what was he picked-up on was indeed what was being typed, but not thinking through what I was saying - remebering my first comment. Best of all not bringing your name to the thread, BTW I yikes _both_ the're and my post that named one specific user; as on reflection I did not see any need to highlight one user, or for me to be daft enought to reply with that users name in the post.

Though I understand what post one was getting at, it soon became apparent this was never going to be just about rule changes on h2g2. Hence my remark about getting our dig's in.

smiley - tea

If there was some kind of problem between the user with a journal mentioned and myself, then I don't know about it, since we have been in conversation for the past week! Plus I sent on an e-mail (this a second one since the start of the thread) to the user in question, though got an 'out of office' reply, the reason for this has been shown by another in a previous post.

If getting journal threads on personal matters did become a problem, unsubsribing from the hub, resolved it.

smiley - tea

If the user, making use of then hub account journal was a problem, then I would asked that user to consider what was occuring at the time.

smiley - tea

It' was 'no big deal' to unsubsribe. What could become a big-deal is if sites are closed, and people are moved about, it's just not rules that need to be considered, it's also the effect as it happens, hey and most of all somebody needs to updat BBCpages, there are *still* links to 'writers message board' about that is closed - then leading you to GW sub-site about to close. Just how many dead links on bbc.co.uk are there going to be, that is not 'a dig' that is a question of is there going to be a 'tidy-up' and wheere to look for a current list of sub-sites to use, if being subsribed to the hub is not a good idea. smiley - erm

"smiley - coffee
You are saying you only became member of the hub and then you where subscribed to all postings on the huh?

smiley - coffee
I had to explicitly subscribe to any Forum just to be informed of each. (As it does work on most sites, not on POV, 6music or 1xtra)

I'm not really here

"#5.Subsribed to the hub."

How did you subscribe to the Hub? Because I don't know of anywhere that you can subscribe to an entire site so that you'd get journal threads. Very odd.

I didn't really understand some of your message, but if you meant that you emailed me - I don't work at the Beeb anymore, which is why you would get an out of office.
