Everyone chill!!! This is *so* unnecessary! The entry was coming along fine MP! All you needed to do was explain your point, we could wrangle over it, decide that just putting UK in the title was effective, and move on and make the entry happy!

It's not up to us to research the entry at all, it's our job to poke all these things because people reading it will poke them! It's better for us to first. We just want to make sure it's easy to read, factually correct, and well-written. That's all

Probably because you jumped right in and didn't read the reason why I had withdrawn the thing in the first place

Therefore anybody stopping by this thread who hasn't written anything for peer review would very likely think twice about doing it.

As a scout I don't think it's a clever idea to be winding someone up. Which is what you appear to be doing at the moment

I also agree with mizzp, you were very cutting and rude. Not IMHO the actions of a good scout and again it is not the best idea, again, to accuse someone who is already upset of "throwing a strop"

And yes this is not the best of threads to be looking in if you are a researcher thinking of doing an entry for the guide.

Personally I'd read this then Run as fast as I could in the other direction.

This is no longer a PR thread, therefore no longer about the EG - it's about whatever the participants decide it to be.

When this entry was submitted to PR it was not a very good one - it was utterly lacking in focus, direction and structure. The title bore little or no relation to the content, and it appeared to be a string of pragraphs, many of which had little or no relationship to the others.

MizzPinky was very amenable to all the comments being made until Mikey posted, and up until that point the entry was proceeding nicely - indeed at the point that it was removed from PR it was shaping up as a very good EG entry.

My interpretation of what happened after Mikey began questioning the basis of the entry is that both Mikey and MP were misunderstanding each other, and instead of standing her ground, MP started getting upset.

It seems MizzPinky that you submitted this entry a long time before it was ready and with little in the way of research. For instance...

If you're going to put something into an entry you have to know what it is.

Am I rude or cutting? I don't think so. I don't sugar-coat my words and I call a spade a spade. Nor did I 'jump in' - I was involved in this thread from the very first day it was submitted to PR.

Leaving aside Mikey's comments, which as I've pointed out, I believe were due to a misunderstanding, every single comment in this thread has been valid, and with the intention of making the entry good enough to get into the EG. That's the only purpose of PR. Scouts and PR regulars aren't in it for any imagined power; this isn't an almighty ego trip.

That's a two-way street y'know. You reckon it's a whole lot of fun to be on the other side of the fence in threads like this? It ain't. All I'm interested in is following the guidelines laid down by the Editors and helping Researchers get their entry into the EG, and right now I should be eating my bloody breakfast, not defending myself against unfounded allegations and, and downright tantrums.
