A Conversation for Lord Baden-Powell's Role in The Girl Guide Movement (UK)

There's something odd with your inverted commas in the phrase /'hero of the Siege of Mafeking’/. The first is flat and the second is curved.
It is not Edited Guide style to start an Entry with a header.
Your headers have too many words with capital letters. /Of/, /a/, /in/, and /and/ do not need to be capitalised in title case.
Proofreading is my hobby.
Good Entry, by the way. Could perhaps do with some filling in, but I know nothing about it, really.

The Editors prefer headers to subheaders to break up an entry, particularly since the advent of h2g2 mobile because the headers break an entry into sections which are then used as anchors for showing the page on a mbile phone or PDA. However, since your paragraphs are so short, the entry would look very odd if every subheader was a header. Could you expand them a little and/or use headers to break the entry into sections and then use subheaders to further break down the sections?

Well, I think it's splitting hairs a bit to say that B-P was not the founder of Guiding, after all, he did ask his sister to set up a programme for girls. However,, to be fully accurate, perhaps s'thing like
... founder of Boy Scouts (1908) and with his sister Agnes the Girl Guides or Scouts (1910)
n.b. To extend the sentence on Siege of Mafeking, this was ... (October 1899 - May 1900).

ahh but he was the founder, if you've read the entry, the girls asked him and he formed the name of Girl Guides all Agnes did was adapt the programme. Girlguiding UK refers to Lord Baden Powell as it's founder too, so argue with that

This is your first sentence:
Lord Baden-Powell is of course well known for being the Founder of the Scouting movement and, with his sister Agnes, the co-founder of Guiding.

I think there's scope to do a bit more on Scouting, rather than just focusing on Guides. The way I see it, this either needs one entry (BP - a brief Scouting and Guiding History) or three seperate (BP, Scouts, Guides).
Just a thought.
Nice entry so far though.

Yes, I agree with you, particularly if that is what Guiding UK says.

This sentence needs punctuating better:
"He had started to gather information for a book on army Scouting, during his time in army service, when this was published, because Lord Baden-Powell was already quite famous the book became a best seller".
> He had started to gather information for a book on army Scouting, during his time in army service. When this was published, because Lord Baden-Powell was already quite famous, the book became a best seller.
Also, 'service' is spelt somewhat strangely in about the first para I think.

Hi. I'm going to be really picky here.
"Thinking Day is Born"
Although /is/ is a small word, it is usually accorded a capital initial in titles because it's a verb.
Don't you just love me?

I guess my one complaint here is that I feel like this entry really minimizes the work and influence of both Agnes and Olave -- both of them played tremendously big roles in Guiding's founding and history, and here they're presented as just appendages of LBP.
Oh, and LBP is mentioned in my EG entry here, which might be worth linking to -- A431641

It's necessary to put paragraph tags around each paragraph:
Blah blah blah, Lord Baden-Powell blah blah blah, with a melon and and a roll of duct tape. This of course was before his blah blah blah with Sherpa Tensing Norgay. The horse made a full recovery and is currently appearing in 'No Sex Please We're British' at the Adelphi Theatre.
