i was just wondering that in the line which proceeds "Hello [YOUR NAME] i'm not [your name]" (which you will see on your screen only a few inches above this post) should actualy b changed to (and i will use my name to avoid any confussion);
'Hello Lord_Preston i'm not the Lord_Preston'
purely because what happens, say, if there was someone accidently logged onto my account who's name was 'Lord_Preston' but they wern't infact me, then they would have no cause to sign out and could ruin what little respect i have left on this site. where as if the proposed 'the' was implace they could not claim to be 'the Lord_Preston' (that being me) and so they would have to sign out or suffer severe mental anguish and guilt.
well its just an idea... maybe i'm just going a little crazy now i'm stuck out here in Australia...

all i can say is a country that has to prove itself by trying 2 beat every other country must be an insecure one. its a lovely place mind. one of the most beautiful countries in the world. however, its still a young (western) culture and therefore still has a lot to learn in the ways of the world and as soon as you aussies discover there is a "rest of the world" and not just yourselves then i think you'll b all the better for it.

We have no need to prove anything to ourselves, the fact that we can beat almost any country at anything is just our way of keeping your egos in check. Think of Australia as the country needed by the western world to tell you to pull your heads in and then prove why you should listen to what we have to say.

My side of the pond, we laugh at everything that has anything to do with australia. It's just funny.

This lack of apptitude is very common in those without the privelages of being born an Aussie. Disseminate this conversation all over h2g2 and see how many people will agree with me, if they don't direct hem to ths conversation, I'll take them all on

see there you go again with this needing 2 prove yourself again. i couldnt give a flying fish how many people you can yell "australia is the the best country in the world" at because i doubt you'll change anyones mind with such subtle and tactical arguing.
anyway this thread is running away from the point!!! what about my small idea... oh and 'prince of shadow' i hope you wont turn against it purely because of this brief autication.

The fact that this thread of conversation is moving away from your original idea is because that your original idea is just another example of the English need to whine and nitpick at the smallest thing. We however have obtained a very happy go lucky attitude and therefore are able to accept a small indescretion if the whole works, if this was not the case then England would have been wiped off the face of the planet by now for their monumental stuffups in the British Empire's collapse.
