"Road Maps"

Has anyone else noticed that the new political buzz word appears to be "Road Map"? These days we have Road Maps for just about everything: Peace in Palestine, rebuilding Iraq, joining the Euro - it seems that just about any political initiative these days has to be accompanied by a Road Map.

What I want to know is this: is this a deliberate attempt by senior politicians to alienate women from major policy decisions? As everybody knows, women cannot read road maps of any type - preferring usually to stop and ask for directions.

Secondly, will we ever be able to buy these new maps at W H Smiths?

I used to draw roadmaps as part of my old job, to help direct people to the clients/places we were doing adverts for - very, very stylised and bearing no relation at all to what the roads are actually doing.

My advice? Wait for the A-Z (tm) to come out, they're about the best smiley - biggrin

This phrase became popular in Marketing and IT circles about 2 years ago - there were career road maps and upgrade roadmaps etc. As far as I can tell it is a direct replacement for the word "framework" that was used before.
