Hmm, I think we're both perfectly normal, it's everybody else who's weird.
It's raining a lot here... apparently everybody is getting flooded out... but with me being a peregrine and all I've had no problems with my nest halfway up a very high cliff.

*stops in to see if there is any important ambassadorial mail for the Earth Embassy*
silly quotes...?
fun at the expense of the president...?
Wah...?
TEXTUAL ANALYSIS!?
Hey! Why is it the fun stuff ends just before I come around? First, the indignity of being beaten to the answer every time without fail in the H2IQ contest, and now this!
*stalks off in a huff, muttering*
That's what I get for not being European I guess. Nuts to longitude then!
*stomps down to the basement to begin work on the Embassy in the nice comfy corner office hitherto wanting an occupant*

*pokes head up from the basement*
Hey, does anybody know how this office intercom thingy works?
Anyway, I need to find or commission a flag for the Earth Embassy. I could have sworn there was an h2g2 graphic somewhere that depicted the United Nations flag, but I can't seem to find it. Anyways, if not that, I need something representing Earth and h2g2 - perhaps the h2g2 emblem superimposed on a picture of the planet or something like that...
How would I go about doing that? Anybody? Anybody?

Don't worry Tink' I didn't mind your analasis, althought you didn't point out any of the Latin or French influences

Hmmm
Non, Je ne parle pas bien francais...
But if you want Latin...

Peregrin Posted Nov 4, 2000
Indeed.
I could do a flag for you if you like.

Amy the Ant does good art if Peregrin's doesn't come up to scratch
It's not raining here, for a wonder. There are fireworks outside my window instead, and good music inside my room, and plenty of Pepsi to be drunk, so I'm happy.

*grins having finally found a time when BTinternets not slow*
I've just got in and I can safely say that fog is the main weatheryness as well as cold...but then that's necessary for bonfire night

Peregrin Posted Nov 5, 2000
Is it bonfire night? Oh it's tomorrow night isn't it.
Anyone doing anything interesting? I'm not. I might set something on fire, but nothing legally.

Well... there's a huge big pile of wood I could burn in our incinerater(an oil drum with the top cut off ) but I suspect it's too damp....
Oh, BTinternet's always nice and quick between 1am and about 6am... I find it really anoying using it during the day when it's slow

I am not doing anything today. Well, not that anyone's told me about anyway.

*grins happily*
We saw fun fireworks yesterday and on Friday but I didn't have any sparklers then so I may be 'forced' to go and find some pretty fireworks tonight too...I love autumn it has all the best stuff
The problem with BT at 2 in the morning is that whilst it may be quick it does leave you quite tired when you wake up the next morning

And if I'm awake at 2am I'm not necessarily sober...

I'm still on a weird routine... which is annoying 'cos there's various things I need to do during the day, like go to the bank.
It's too wet to do anything exciting tonight. I might go upstairs and watch the university fireworks display from a convenient window. It's a bit far away but it's always good and it's better than programming animated firework displays on my computer...
I intend to buy some sparklers next time I go to the shops... hopefully they'll be cheaper than before today

Don't think I'm going to a display, though if Rev. Canon David Hawkins is preaching at church, I wouldn't bet on it (David has previously done sermons in sack-cloth and ashes and from a bathtub, also tipped leaves all over the stage and run through them kicking them).

They've kindly decided to hold this years HUGE firework display in the field next to our house so I can happily sit in the warm and watch them from my bedroom window and occasionally run out to sparkle
But then I have to run in again as it's still raining and the wind's picked up again which means that even more trees are going to blow over and block the lane and paths...
*starts muttering about blown over trees and being forced to climb over them as you can't get past*
But I bought toffee apples the other day so I don't actually have to go past the tree I can just sit inside and happily munch them

They're even more pretty from indoors as it means you don't get a face full of rain when you're watching them but it does mean I don't get to wear my woolly hat
