A Conversation for The Alabaster House
Basement Storeroom
Big Bad Werewolf Started conversation Oct 2, 2001
*In the basement of Alabaster house, in a seldom visited corner, is a relatively small storeroom, no longer in use. Dust lies thick on the floor and cobwebs hang from the ceiling. There are no windows and only one door leading to a basement hallway. There are a set of stairs in one corner that lead to a set of wooden doors that open outwards to the outside.
On this particular afternoon, the peace of the room is suddenly shattered by the appearance of a doorway in the south wall. Through the doorway, steps a wolf-like man, followed by several others.*
Right this way, folks.

*a large shaggy Red Dog emerges last behind the rest of the ACF. He fills a handily available bucket with water from a faucet in the wall and places the bucket in a precarious position above the slightly ajar door in the south wall of the room*
*he grins to himself and follows the footprints across the room and up the stairs*

*inside the bag, Arl has managed to do something. He has finally scratched that itch in the small of his back! Also, he has armed his wrist mounted Mini-ACM launcher. A small beeping sound comes from the bag, but no one notices it. Dogs, after all, are all too busy listening to things humans can't hear, and smelling for things humans can't smell. Sounds like a mini-ACM launcher being armed don't catch their attention.*

*Has a passing thought about where he left his mini-Anti-Cat Missile, then carries on.*

[Corrigible] [entering through the hole] Wait! I sense something amiss!

I am sure that I've been confused, now.
*After being totally baffled by many odd events, Arty followed a bit of thought (aka backlog) to find out where everyone was. Finally, he tracked them down to the alabaster house. Taking an annoyingly conventional approach, he enters through the front door.*
Bit dusty in here, don't you think?
*wonders at the bucket of water over an unnamed doorway. Unsure of what else to do, brings out his Swiffer(tm) duster. begins cleaning.*

*Fires his mini-ACMs (that's Anti *Canine* missle, not Anti Cat Missle) from inside the bag. It blasts a hole in the bag and straight through the floor. The room is filled with the scent of meat! (part of the scheme of an ACM is to confuse the dogs greatly). This drives the dogs crazy as they search to find the source, but cannot. It seems to be coming from every direction other than the hole Arl just fell through, and hides Arl's scent entirely. Arl finds himself at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F54787?thread=144389&post=1360637#p1360637 *

Aaachoooo ........
*unluckily for Arl the dust stirred up by the discharge of the weapon has rendered the dogs normal excellent sense of smell temporarily defective*
besides, there is a massive hole in the floor ... that`s a dead give away as to where he went
Look there is a massive hole in the floor ... that`s a dead give away as to where he went.
*notices a wet Corrigable in the corner - passes him a handy g2g2 towel*

[Corrigible begins swearing loudly. He joins the others.]
[Corrigible] Wait! Could somebody explain to me why we're chasing Arl and who's on who's ... [becomes inaudible to those in this forum]
