A Conversation for Meet Rich the Rhino!

Sorry for the lack of communication, folks; I've had rather more important things on my mind of late.
As you may have guessed, this isn't going ahead after all. My first problem was a lack of a rhino costume (it would have cost hundreds of pounds for a professional one, and I don't have the time or skill to do one myself). Without a costume, it's just a man hitch-hiking, and I know from personal experience that doing any UK-wide route without a mad slant on it would have taken me a week.
The other problem, if I'm honest with you, is that I haven't been myself over the last few months. A couple of things have got on top of me, I've been more than a little depressed, and I had to choose what to prioritise. I chose myself. h2g2 has had to go on the backburner for a while.
It's not a dead idea, and I may yet resurrect it in the autumn. Watch this space, and my sincerest apologies for not calling it off sooner.

Oh Rich I'm sorry to hear that you have suffered from depression recently and I totally understand why you have looked after yourself first and foremost.
There are a lot of researchers who care about you here and we are all rooting for you.

No need for apologies at all, mate. You have to think about the important stuff first, and there's no point driving yourself into the ground like a tent peg.

A virtual tour is distinctly possible, though:

Aw shoot - I had this written down in my diary. Never mind, Rich - you can have another go when things are better.

You're still welcome to come visit us Norn Irn researchers, even without your rhino costume! I'd bring a raincoat, though.

I've just gone to a ing five day week (albeit possibly temporarily), and Nats has said she might be able to help out with a rhino head. So it could be on again later in the year.
