Well VV can't make the 9th of July - the night before the London meet, so we've got to have another Birmingham meet just for her

I know I'll just pop down the flat cap and muffler club (affilated) and inform them of our meet plans...

I'm just dropping by the user pages of my friend in Brum (other than those who are subscribed to this thread - cos that would just be silly) and letting them know the details.

If you read back over this thread, it looks like we're a bunch of school kids getting exited over a trip to the zoo! Mind you, if what I've heard about the B'ham meets, that's exactly what it will be like!
Oh, I must warn mother!

Might be able to make the second one, though I will be in Cambridge and if my train experiences are anything to go by getting to Birmingham by train is an absolute nightmare! Though I suppose I could hire a car for the weekend and make a real weekend of it. Have to see what my summer holds and how my cash situation holds up.

I'll try to get to the meeting on the 9th. Getting together for a session sounds like fun, never been to a meet before.

Well, if you were driving up from Cambridge way I might be persueded I'e never done Cambridge to Bermingham before.... I thought you could get a train direct from Kings X to Bermingham?

Yeah but it takes ages and it's not cheap.
You can drive it in a couple of hours, My bloke used to live in Telford so I drove the journey every other weekend ish for about a year.
To get to Birmingham takes a couple of hours but if you avoid the traffic it can be a darn sight quicker.
//------------------Ignore that bit, they've improved the trains
Having just looked at the train times it appears there is now a direct service between Cambridge and Birmingham, it takes nearly 3 hours but if you get the 10am that gets you in nicely for 1pm on a Sat. It still costs a bomb though at £36.50
