I think I lost a trochee... It was ::rather embarassed:: Well, it was mine...

Oh, how terribly sad. Here, have a tissue ... no, no trochees in stock right now, but I've got a few dactyls and spondees if you like them? There, there ... it will probably come home when it's hungry ...

::Sniffles:; Thank you, Kes... you are VERY kind to offer the dactyls and spondees.... But I am most attached to my trochee; we have a whole rhythm... a dedication to alliteration, and I was starting to train her to use allusion upon command. She's very lovely...

::ponders:: Maybe you could start an adoption agency for trochees, dactyls, and spondees...

I think I will go home and wait for my trochee!!! Thank you!!!

::blows her nose into the tissue for the fourth time, and looks around for a trash can::

You could try putting out a bit of allegory ... that often attracts them.

Where can I find an allegory plant!?? Do we have a Literary Nursery!??

Plants grow, as does the soul,
Tended by sun and cleansed by rain.
Betimes by frost beset.
To take its leaves inflicts some pain.

The plant, dear Muse, is you.
To bring your errant trochee here
Spare it some leaves of love
From you - so it has nought to fear.

::Snaps her fingers and wipes a tear from her eye::

Thank you for helping me when I had lost my trochee. She has returned to me, and it turns out she will be having baby trochees in the spring!!!

Got my assignments finished, so I'm back on h2g2

JOTD: The reason computer chips are so small is computers don't eat much.

I hope that's not the same poem that got a hold of my once innocent trochee... I guess we will simply be forced(simply) to wait and see...

Oh, fate!!!

It does have a certain magnetic attraction, doesn't it? One can quite see how smaller, innocent verse forms could be swept off their "feet".

How come the good ones are always attracted to the bad ones!??

All seek adventure in its many forms
While "good" provides stability and calm.
So we seek out excitement of life's storms,
Attracted by that opposite's strange charm.
Hence angels and all motrals tend to fall,

No, it's not a lost poem ... sometimes I can muster enough brain cells to reply as a poet should ... in verse. Must be having a good day today ... So it's yours if you like it.

Strange how the lighter verses never seem to get "lost" ... maybe they're more evolved? Don't know ... but all the ones in the LPO seem to be fairly "heavy duty", don't they? ... and only the people who put them there know the full story. Fascinating.
