A Conversation for Talking Point: Vanity and the Knife
"If everybody looked the same, we'd get tired of looking at each other"

when ever I hear that song, the truth of it strikes me...the people who i know who i consider the most beautiful are unlike everyone else...beauty has to do with how people are embodied, how they act...at least in "real life," different for who people seem to want to look at on tv.
Super models are too thin, but they also aren't that expressive...sort of like cardboard cut outs...
so personality is important, because it effects your smile; it can make you more attractive, even in first impressions...
plastic surgery; i've considered getting a breast reduction, but i can't afford it, so not that seriously. Also read about some of the draw backs, and decieded maybe not...yet could be necessary to avoid back problems...
I think a good example of plastic surgery being a bad idea, is the girl who was in dirty dancing; after that film she got a nose job, and stoped getting work...often people just lose their personality, especially when changing your face...my face isn't perfect but its my face, it makes me recognisable to people around me...so i change my hair alot, but my face is my face...it seems wierd that people would want to change it, even if they are getting older....also face lifts can go bad, and it all ends up worse...
sorry this is so disjointed, i just have alot of thoughts on this

True, but I've always felt that you should have plastic surgery to find yourself attractive.
Speaking of personality one night having imbibed much alcohol me and some forumites from another board came to a conclusion. Physically a person is either Hot, Cute, or Pretty. One is only ever Beautiful if one has a personality to back it up. Personally I think far too many people say "I should be loved for my mind" but I think both aspects must be present, both physical and psychological.
