Well, as far as the airfare goes, I'm not sure. And I think you'd have to negotiate a rate of exchange with the owner of the Tropicana, Big 'Nasty' Al, as unpleasant a character as you'll find this side of the black stump. For the $6 an hour this job pays, you really don't want to have to mess with the likes of him. Forget the whole deal with the Tropicana, just come straight to Austin. I'm sure we can fix you up somehow, with the need for 'maid service'.

I just added a logo (thanks to Redbeard for letting me use it) to the Society's page, and I need to know if anyone else can see it, or am I just getting it from my pc's cache and everyone else is getting a little red x.

Dan, perhaps I can bribe you with an extra day off w*rk to show me just how that new drop down menu works and how I implement it - I'm a relative newbie at GuideML, and I've been thinking for a while that the society's page could do with a list of members, and maybe a list of like-minded clubs such as The Lazy Bastards and The Church of Weekendism, but as I like to follow Peaceful's principle of putting something off because you might be able to do it better another time, I've been, well, putting it off. A self-updating drop down list though... that sounds like a plan to me!

I have a to-do list too which I often check, but hardly ever act upon, unless one of the items is "spend lots of time surfing around h2g2" . You all (wow, I'm beginning to sound Texan at last!) have a good weekend too.

Yeah, I know that strictly speaking it should have been "y'all", but it's tempered by a 40 year-old cockney accent (I'm told that before I went to school I had a Scouse accent because I was around my Liverpudlian mother all day), so I don't think I'll ever be speaking like a true native of these parts

As long as I dont have to update it myself (I'm doing both of the lists on my page already), sure. All you need to do is create a .js file and upload it somewhere. Inside this file (you can use a simple text editor to create it), paste code like this:

document.write("-- The Church of Weekendism --");
document.write("Church of Weekendism Homepage");
document.write("High Priest Big 'Evil' Dan");

(That being the first three lines of the CoW list.)

Then just change the URL in the code provided by the weekendism thread to point to this .js file, and you should have a functioning list! Just remember that it's not self-updating. Somebody does need to update that file.

How does a Scouse accent sound?

Ok, lets assume ive just sat down at a computer for the first time and am completely computer illiterate - can someone explain to me..
1. why I want this list
2. how I get it onto my page
3. what it will do for me once it is there

(i am actually semi computer literate, but completely self taught and there are many things I just dont get...)

The list will have all the members of this society listed, and you can then visit any members page from it. It hasn't been created yet, but when it is, instructions will be provided.
