Well, it's Thursday and I've managed to put off serious housecleaning for company this weekend...

...but on an energetic note, I've managed to not worry about it!

Thursday is quite my favourite day of the week, so I chose to have that as one of my two days off, then I could constantly put off going to work every Thursday. Whose company are you expecting ox? If it's family you can prolly put off the housecleaning altogether - aren't families supposed to understand about that sort of thing?

Oh, Gosh, you really did add my 'profound' thoughts to the mainpage! I see you do not always procrastinate! Thank you, I hope we are serving the noble cause of procrastination, and will continue to do so -- with determination and wisdom smiley - smiley

[sorry I took so long getting back here, I was procrastinating, of course]

Of course you were Peaceful - procrastination is our business, and this forum only ever gets busy when our members have something dificult or unpleasant to avoid, so they put it off and come here to do some posting smiley - smiley. I spent almost the whole of my day off on h2g2 yesterday, putting off doing the laundry until just before the "Do not use the laundry room after..." deadline, and putting off tidying up, and having a shave until just before my wife got home at half past midnight. Nice to talk with you again.

Actually, it's my brother-in-law that's visiting so being too tidy isn't necessary. I'm the only slob in the family. One room can remain unkempt because the horrible weather caused roof damage...(I sound really bad, don't I? Almost like I'm at a 12 step program or something?)

Sorry...I think I really like this forum!smiley - smiley

Everyone have a good weekend!

Right now I *should* be working on my programming assignment. I am here instead. Just thought that was worth mentioning.

(Hmph, silly prof. "Not a programming course", you said? smiley - winkeye)

Right now I'm (once again) putting off preparing something to eat while I'm at work which means that I'll have to buy something on the way which will probably cost me more and be rather less good for me. But it means that I can hang out here for longer smiley - smiley

Cleaned what I consider only necessary areas for company: kitchen, living room, 1 bathroom. I saw heaps of dust that amazed even a veteran procrastinating housekeeper like myself! My dog wandered around looking lost. Animals are cool...they don't care if it all piles up! This will last me for a WHILE.

Im doing a post grad diploma in reproductive science, so its actually quite interesting and i actually sometimes use my reading i have to do as procrastination from other things that are much less interesting like cleaning... but last week i had two 5000 word literature reviews to write so needless to say the bathroom is spotless, the dog has never been healthier or more brushed and walked, and i had gourmet meals every night!!!!!
This week, I dont have much work to do (nothing that's due for at least three weeks anyway) so Im trying to find other things (like posting here) to avoid having to go grocery shopping and do boring study that has to be done...
hmmm....
Have decided I must see that new movie "Gossip" so im off to that tonight, and seeing as i haven't managed to fill up the fridge since I went away for the weekend, im going out for dinner too!!!

Anyone know any embryologists who want to give me a job when this is all over????? (about 4 weeks)

Not personally tabatha, but there are always openings at the used cd store where I work smiley - smiley (crappy pay, so a very high turnover of staff you see)

Why not do it right here? I have to to ask you some questions first.

1) Do you mind listening to music all day long?
2) Can you live on $220 a week?
3) Can you keep a straight face when telling someone that you're only going to pay them 25c for that Pearl Jam cd, or $5 for that huge pile of discs they thought were worth at least $60?
4) Can you put up with a large student population who come in en masse, check out half the store on the listening stations, and then buy one cd between them?
5) Are Walter and Wendy Carlos a) brother and sister, b) husband and wife, c) the same person?
6) Can you do that "I work in record store and therefore I am a million times better than you" sneer?

Send your answers, plus a photo of yourself, two dead creeping charlies, and a self addressed stamped envelope to: The Tropicana Motor Hotel, Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood, California, c/o Young Tom Waits smiley - smiley

1) No
2) I'm a student, I can live on $3.50 a week....
3) Not on your life....
4) I am the student population....
5) a & b
6) I can do any kind of sneer you like....

I have three dead creeping charlies, but they really don't like being split up.......would the Tropicana Motor Hotel defray all my travel expenses, and pay me while I'm getting around to arranging everything?

You sound like a perfect candidate for the job! When can you start? And the Tropicana will be happy to help out with your travelling expenses as long as you don't mind doing some maid service for a few days in return.

Maid service? That's not a euphemism for anything else is it?

You never know with the Tropicana, it's a pretty damn seedy establishment, full of lowlifes smiley - winkeye. I'd play it with utmost caution if I were you.

Lowlifes? Sounds like I'd fit right in.....what is the airfare from Melbourne to LA these days, and how much 'maid service' would be required to work it off?.....
