>>What, exactly, is the means of communication between the immaterial soul and the material body?<<
There's even a song about it:
But it was just my imagination
running away with me.
It was just my imagination
running away with me...
And here's the obligatory youtube video as indisputable proof!

I think Tal is pulling your leg, ~jwf~. He is of pretty much the same opinion as me about that immaterial soul thing, I think.

Yep.
Legs: The pulling of.
It's what I do.
~~~~~
The imagination exists
All that can be imagined must necessarily exist, if only in the imaginary realm
Supernatural stuff, (souls, spirits, gods etc), are all imaginary
Therefore supernatural things exist.
BUT
The imagination is a function of sentience/consciousness -- an emergent property of complex neurophysiology, which is physical.
Therefore the imagination has no independent, immaterial existence.
Therefore 'supernatural' phenomena are actually natural, physical phenomena.
There is no non-physical, immaterial existence, other than an artificial, illusory, fantastic one we may playfully, creatively, or mistakenly choose to imagine
The distinction between material and immaterial exists only in the imagination
