A422056 : Rock Music UPDATES

Nice article, though far too short to cover everything that needs to be covered.
One more thing, I'd run it through a spell-checker. There are quite a few minor spelling mistakes and words that don't exist, such as 'rhythmatic', that will make it less likely to be accepted...

Good work dude! If you need any more help on the "controversies" bit, give me a shout - I have a cheap book on rock and roll scandals that I read every morning on the pot. Great fun to read.

PS: I'm not that old either - 24, but you can call me gramps

It's not that we (or at least I) assume you're going to be rude; it's just that I/we are paranoid about how old we are! The thought that you are less than half my age, but old enough to write a coherent article on rock music somehow sacares the willies out of me!
Put it down to one of those weird things that happens when you're older. You'll see

Great article. One or two nits. Feel free to ignore them.
The are a fair number of 'quotations', some of which seem to be general comments, but other seem to be atributable eg "hairy-arsed beast". Personally I'd quite like to know who said it. Simmilarly, "lude" is spelt "lewd" (about Elvis), unless this is some kind of quote.
Not sure why you say that indie rock isn't really rock as you've defined rock as being guitar, drummer, vocalist based, but then you don't like it so I won't labour the point.

Hi there again
You sure are generating controversy here! I'd have said that mo-town was soul, myself. The article is impressive because it is so concise - so I'd say leave the mo-town stuff out.
The reason we all mention our ages, is because most of us were there for most of it, and couldn't have done such a good job writing about it. Dead jealous, that's all. I don't think you are rude. I think you are remarkably tollerant of everyone's opinions.
Have fun!
Ben

Actually I agree that indie isn't exactly rock in spite of being guitar based. Too broad a catagorie, though you have narrowed it down to..well...oasis by calling it indie rock. Isn't it called brit pop now it's gone mainstream anyway. Maybe you could maintain a dignified silence on the whole sordid subject. That's a joke by the way, not a serious suggestion.
Oh, well. Spelling. Can't spell myself. Was just so excited that I noitced. English spelling is why god invented the spellchecker.

> "Rock Music and Satanism"
go read the linked entry on Satanism - it doesn't involve selling your soul to the devil, nor worshipping Satan. The devil is effectively a mascot for Satanists - not necessarilly with any real existance. This is the Anton LaVey thing - and is what is properly called Satanism.
What you're talking about here seems to be devil-worship: which is an entirely seperate kettle of fish.
The first line: By Mark somebody - will need to be removed before it can enter the edited guide.
I think it's unbiased enough. Personally I'd make a few minor changes, for example the comment on "indie rock" - but I think it's ok.
