Oxford's South Park (is a good place to go)
njan (afh) Posted Oct 10, 2000
It's not Oxford? Then where is it? Everyone seemed to be resigned to Oxford..

I've never been able to sit through more than half an hour of the stupid thing. I much prefer watching the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (if I hadn't busted video 1 by watching it too much!) or The Slipper and the Rose, which is hilariously funny.
"Why can't I be two people?
Why can't I play two roles?
Why can't one of me endure the appalling pomposity,
While the other me, twin brother me, is a free and happy soul?" (Prince Edward on the trials of being a prince and heir to the throne of Euphrania)
"Find a mate dear boy,
Find a mate." (The King on the subject of Prince Edward refusing to marry ugly women)
"The likeness was no likeness. Her golden tresses false. Her mouth was cramped with age, and devoid of teeth. In short, sir, she left much to be desired!" (Prince Edward on one of the princesses thought to be a suitable candidate for him)
In case you don't know, The Slipper and the Rose is the true story of Cinderella. With Annette Crosbie as the Fairy Godmother. That's got to be worth something. But be warned - it's a musical. If you don't like them, then watch it anyway. I don't like most musicals, but this one's good.

Hmm i thought we were meeting in Oxford too... London would be better though
T: I understood what you meant, I think a comparison would be interesting because I read the book before seeing the film, and found the book better
H2G2 does have 2 Articles on the Blade runner film, but neither of them has been submitted for approval and the two researchers who wrote the articles have since left the guide: so no approved article on Blade runner

*looks hopeful*
But the guide doesn't really need an entry on Bladerunner does it? I mean everyone on here has probably seen it so they already know about it anyway...
*sighs*
If I wrote one it'd be very long and have so many boring details in it it would never be approved anyway so then we'd just have three unapproved entries and where's the fun in that...
*thinks*
Actually I kinda like the idea of Blade Runner being unapproved of

Aaaw...no-one would really want to read it though...and I'm sure it wouldn't be very good... besides what if it was good and it did get approved then I'd have to forever go through h2g2 life with Blade Runner as my first approved entry...
*sighs again*
Alright then what should I put in it? If I write everything I know about Blade Runner then we'd be here for weeks

See look DD's seen it he doesn't need anyone to write it, he said it then, I could tell by the tone of surprise in his voice...
And ummm...Ev's clearly joking or errrm if he's not seen it then he won't have any interest in what happens

So what, it's mandatory

Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Oct 10, 2000
*cunningly steers the topic away from her writing about Blade Runner*
Yeah but what was the topic to start with...according to the subject line it's South Park which means we'll have to start doing Cartman impressions and eating wotsits

But if we're going back on topic then you'll have to do it again

See now isn't that better...I'd join in with the impressions but I can only demand food or sing the songs both of which may offend people

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
