And avoid starting the Entry with a header. Can you give us an introductory paragraph.
Also, it reads a bit like an advert at present, possibly because it's a rather short entry. Surely it doesn't have only positives/isn't suited to *every* style/has similar alternatives?

Sorry, missed a question mark up there. I hate it when that happens. So, can you give us an introductory paragraph?

Dear Doctor:
(Gee that sounds strange!)
We understand that you may not have time to give this entry your attention, but it would be a good idea to remove it from PR until you find that you have the time. It's a common courtesy here.
Thanks

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted Oct 14, 2008
Would something worth doing, in opinions of th eother peer reviweers be to remove the first person references?; I think thats still not really allowed for house style is it?
If so might I suggest....

Who Stood on The Cat?
The Digitech Whammy is one of the most expressive effects units ever devised, (check out the solo from Rage Against the Machine's Sleep Now in the Fire, or the refrain to Floods by Pantera for examples) but can also issue forth noises that belong only in the deepest depths of hell if abused (check out 'Suicide Note Pt. 2' by Pantera). It allows to variously add an extra octave (up or down) to the sound, which can lead to beautiful clean tones or thick, funky modern rock sounds, harmonise the notes, or add chorus-style tones and, most ingeniously, the mark four includes a down-tune mode which drops all notes played by up to a tone. This can be extremely useful when learning, as it can be hard to match pitch with old records or players who drop the tuning of their guitars by less than a semitone.
Simple Things...
The Whammy has very little to go wrong with it, at least externally. A tough die cast case, an on/off switch, an expression pedal 1 and a little knob where all the magic happens. Input/output-wise, a single input for guitar, one for a midi controller2 and on the other side two outputs are found: one labelled 'dry only' and the other 'wet added'. Should it be necessary to tune with the whammy pedal engaged, a line out from the dry only can be used. Alternatively, both outputs can be hooked up to an amp- experiance the crazy variations possible from such a setup.
Who Cares? I wanna Hear it go: 'rwyleeeeeeeeeegh!!'
Patience, patience, we'll get there. First, it's high time we went through an overview of the features available from this insane piece of equipment. Clockwise from top right. 3
Detune
Split into two tones, shallow and deep. Shallow will add a touch of haunting class to the tone, kind of chorus-sounding stuff. Deep is pretty much the same, except deeper. Ahem.
Whammy
Six different pitch effects are found here, from 2 octaves higher than normal through to 2 octaves lower then normal. then there is the dive bomb function, which goes a whole three octaves lower, so you can mess about with rumblings of an almost inaudible quality. Also included is the drop tune function mentioned earlier.
Harmony
These functions play the normal guitar with an added harmony, pitched anything from a 4th below to a 7th above, and including the nifty octave feature described above. The harmony feature does not track the notes played however, and the expression pedal should be used in order to flip between pairs of harmonics to get a true harmony going, which can be disorienting at first.
UGH!
Some people will never reconcile themselves with the sounds that come out of a Whammy, and some people will prefer to stick to their Floyd roses, etc. but in truth, the whammy just sounds too damned spooky not to try. It is possible to obtain a close approximation of a Theremin for instance, or something akin to a harp drowning, and it has endeared itself to millions because of this. It is perfect for experimental modern neo-hippies who find themselves becoming tired of the same effects, endlessly repeated.
"
well... that kinda thing
I'm trying to remember, as its been years since I myself used one of these things; But I have a vague feeling that other people/companys also made very simular effects to this, would it be worth mentioning them?; I'm sure they can't be the only people still making this not withstanding all the wizzo Line 6 gear and such like availible now (starts muttering how the kids of today with modern technology have it so much easier than back when we could only dream of anythign beyond 16 bit processing )
I'm sure also there are plenty of guide entrys that this could be linked too....

This is the one in PR, please don't do anything to remove it.
You just missed out the Subject title, which has now been rectified.
