Well, my world does, anyway... noone else seems willing to take up the position of having my world revolve around them instead, so I'll have to do for now...

Brasilian (Gracie) Jiu-Jitsu... it's a grappling (ground-fighting) martial art...I have a guide entry on it coming just as soon as I can find the time and will to actually gather together all the research...

Capoeira... not even vaguely close... BJJ is all fighting on the ground...kinda like wrestling meets Judo meets Ju-jitsu...

Have you ever actually seen it? It's dancing...they even do it to a beat...not that it doesn't have validity as a martial art, but it's at least equally dancing... they had to do that, as in many martial arts, because at various times most martial arts have been the subject of repression by the higher classes, especially arts like Capoeira that were typically practiced by slaves...

My walking Encyclopedia...
Well, I know it's a dance, but I thought the martial art was there first...

Nah, I can't walk and type at the same time... The history of capoeira is pretty uncertain, some say it was a martial art disguised as a dance (the most popular theory), some say it's a mixture of a fighting style and dance in the first place...it's hard to say, but it seemed to develop around the 18th century, it was banned in about 1814, and developed further from there... that bit I didn't know off hand, just did a Google search for Capoeira history...
