You might want to take a look at

Yes, I read this article some time ago before I wrote the one we're discussing now... (it was damn good, I thought, and very reassuring had I been a concerned parent.)
I entirely agree with the Goth/Non-Goth bit and its criticisms. However, in this article I wished to expand the issue and make it more light-hearted, as well as introducing the Mock-Goth as a separate cultural subcategory. Having been an associate of one of these bizarre creatures for some time, I thought personal observation and participant research could also be of use.
Thanks,
Mandragora.

Glad you liked it. It'll be coming up as an "edited" one soonish. I see you've been working on your article as well. But you might want to explain what a townie is, me I got no idea... probably hanging out with the wrong kind of people too much

A townie is a widespread category of youth culture; the default one, it seems at times. They are what most people would consider 'normal teenagers' i.e. not Goth, not Mock-Goth, not 'alternative'- and not interesting. Think bad, bleached perms, constant mobile phone use, chewing gum, general pre-pubescence, awful but expensive sports-wear and intolerence of everyone who's not a Townie themselves. There's a Guide entry somewhere for further information. You'll recognise the type, since there is nowhere in these isles not colonised by them; they're the ones who hurl abuse at you as you go past minding your own business.
