Apparently, one side of a cat has more hair. The findings of the Swedish scientific establishment have been corroborated by a special enquiry by the BB Feline Federation. Many hair counts were taken of the side in question and consistently it was found to contain more hairs. The scientists determined that more hair was required on this side to insulate the cat from the elements while it was lying down. Perhaps you would like to examine a cat to confirm the findings. Before you do, can you guess which side of a cat has more hair?

The right - all cats are 'right-pawed', so they lie of their left side, so it's easier to defend themselves from a prone position.
(A complete guess )

judging by the ammount of fur balls my neighbours cat keeps hurling up in my garden, my guess would be the inside !!

Seeing the sides that have not yet been claimed, I choose the front side.
Maybe because a hunting cat has a better chance for a surprise kill if it moves against the wind.
Be we probably all will say 'yes of course' in hindside.

Well, I think the underside. It's either that or the left side, all the other sides seem to have been taken...

I misunderstood that then....

If they are right-pawed, then they lie on their *left* side to have a free right-paw....
Seems to me like DoctorGonzo's claiming them *both*! Oh well; I doubt it is the right answer anyway...

Oh... I see what you mean... hmm... hmmm...
Or, if they lie on their left side, their right side will be exposed to things like rain and wind more, so it ought to have more fur...

I meant that cats always lie on their left, so they need more fur on their right, as the right side will be more exposed... although this is probably incorrect as well as vague
