Nothing to do with red.
Well, Will Scarlet is indirectly connected.

In that case that lets us keep 'the Pink Panther' and how about 'the Black Panther' who was an outlaw in the Leslie Whittle murder case. He was caught just up the road from where I live. Any such bandleaders? That's the only one left on this hypothesis.

I should have been more general. There are no colours involved here.
(I'm just going to draw attention to the vague wording of the question. Please note that I didn't ask for a specific answer. The winner will be the researcher who I feel has come up with the most relevant information, or who I judge to have unearthed a key fact. This isn't a clue.)

well, if the quest to understand mysterious messages is SETI, then...well, I don't know.

There's that story about the man who turns into a donkey. The Golden Ass, Lucius Apuleius.
Harry Potter has an invisibility cloak.
*remains clueless*

Bagpuss Posted Oct 30, 2002
I thought of SETI, Montana, but they're really trying to find messages rather than interpret them.

Easy, they aren't

"No" to all of the above I'm afraid...
Clue:
They are all connected via one English knight
Using *Metamorphosis* as a subject line is a tad misleading , it would have been better to have included it *with* the others

are we tallking a historical knight (eg Round Table) or a contemporary one (eg john Gielgud?)
Metamorphosis
egon Posted Oct 30, 2002
Thanks. I've still got no bloody clue, but at least it's been narrowed down to English knights younger than John Gielgud.
Paul McCartney?

okay, so he isn't necessarily younger, but I'm going with Gawain and the Green Knight. THere's something about those clues...but then again, I could be completely off. I've been known to be off before.
