A Conversation for School Exams - Good, Bad, or Ugly?

In my school district at least (North Canton, OH), the exams do absolutely nothing for one's grade. In fact, I think that the only way that they can affect one's grade is for that one to obtain an irrationally low grade on said exam. For example--In biology, for the third and fourth quarters, I got a 91 and a 92, respectively. On the exam, I got a 99 (I'm just good with tests, I guess). My final grade for the semester (which the exam is included in) was a 92. This grade is after all rounding and such as well. Of course, this helps those that aren't good with tests, but it really hurts me.
