I think "Teddy the Avenger" is hilarious, Dmitri.
But it took me a while to work out that he's a European hamster!

The scientific name early on wasn't a dead giveaway? I thought I'd gone for total transparency, there...also with the internal link to the picture of an annoyed field hamster.
Is there any other kind of hamster besides an annoyed hamster? I've had a couple, and they act like this. Although they wouldn't have been capable of the feat of stowing 100 pounds of seeds...
Anyway, I appreciate your being kind, and apologise, as I had no idea they'd link this silly story to your serious (and excellent) poems...

I didn't check the scientific name at first, and thought Teddy was a guinea pig. I've never kept hamsters, but we had a rabbit which was quite capable of biting, scratching and hiding under the prickliest bush in the garden.
As for silly, you said yourself that comedy is harder to write than tragedy.

Did your rabbit thump at strangers? Some English friends had one in their flat in Cologne which intimidated the local police force. Bunnies can be fierce.
Have just come home to bits of fur in the bathroom...apparently, there was a dustup in our absence... Cats.

If you had a tune, you could set that to music...
About Maxi the Rabbit? I'll have to think about it...
