Well, there's not a proper entry about it anywhere...

It's an interresting entry, but maybe it needs a little work to become more Guide-like.
You should definitly add titles to the different paragraphs, since it would make the structure of the article more visible.
Maybe you could also change the order of the paragraphs : for exemple the last paragraph would be a good introduction, before the facts and figures.
I personnally would enjoy a paragraph about how Parisians and tourists love (or hate?) the Eiffel Tower, and you could also state some more works of G.Eiffel.
I'm not an expert but syntax also seemed a bit strange in some places (but english is not my native language, so I may be totally wrong )
Hope this helps!

The syntax *did* seem a bit strange: flowing in places, chopped in others.
Some of the facts seemed strange too. For one, if I remember correctly, the Tower is well within Paris city limits, so to say it's "near Paris" is misleading. For another, I doubt a lot of readers would have thought of magnetizing the Tower.
But, on the other hand, the instructions for committing suicide off the Tower might be useful for someone... (I can imagine someone bouncing down the Tower sides, with thumbs up, saying, "Thanks, Hitchhiker's Guide!")
One fact that might be interesting, since you mention paint anyway: The Tower is painted brown. When I first saw it, this surprised me; I thought it would be steel-blue.

I once saw a TV program where they were painting the Eiffel tower and the paint they were using was gold.... the program was Blue Peter I think...
When I went to see the tower I was terrified by it, even standing under it gave me vertigo...

another point, when I was there I read a leaflet that said that over the towers History many people attempted to perform acts involving the tower... when it was fairly new, a "scientist" thought he had made a pair of winds that would allow a human to fly and so to test them he jumped off the top of the tower. Of course the wings failed and he was pizza-ised, and in this centure a journalist cycled down the side of the tower for charity )

The syntax was no problem - maybe this is after the fix. I think the comment on the selling of tourist crap should go in the beginning of the article, or maybe it should be reworked to give the article a conclusion.
My nit: "...owing to it's skeletal structure..." Should be its, not it's.

I liked it Amusing too I wouldn't worry so much about spelling etc. The Subs should be able to clean it up nae probs This should not have any bother being picked, but it may take a wee whiley, as the Scouts are only picking a handful a week, until the SubEds finish off the old queue Well, that was my £0.02, so until later....

AARRGGHH!!! It seems I can NOT stop putting it's instead of its. Sorry Lentilla! And yes, this is after the fix, so I'm glad the syntax is no longer a problem.
Yeah? You reckon it could be picked? Cool! !!

Hello there! ... It's Njan, your friendly neighbourhood scout...
You'll be extatically happy, I'm sure, to know that we think this entry is great, and it has now gone into the Editorial Process for future inclusion in the Edited Guide. When it does get into the Edited Guide, we will email to let you know, but please bear in mind it can take a while for entries to go through the sub-editing system.
Well done, Ming!

Yes, really.

*grins *
So, let me get this straight - when an entry is recommended, it joins a que and after a bit a sub-ed subs it and it joins another que and is eventually either turned down or approved by the h2g2 towers.
Is that right?

actually, no, as far as I know, it just gets sub-edited. recommendation by scouts (and approval by Peta's sidekick) constitutes the approval process. I think.

Oh, right...
I got confused by several things I read in various places that seemed to contradict themselves...
