*Followed immediately by the thought that it was a good job he picked up all that driftwood a while back. Two of the pieces look distinctly oary*

* Upon inspection of the rocks in a small rockpool here. There appears to be some mollusks present. Enough infact for a hearty meal... *

*after wandering for a while ox ends up on the beach and finds the mollusks. Filling up his jacket with the mollusks he begins planning a menu for a clambake*

Dig a pit in the sand, fill it with green palm fronds, flat rocks and coals from the fire; keep it steamy with seawater.

*Ox lets the kayak toss in the waves long enough to open wide his arms and yell loudly the names of his warrior ancestors. Immediately rejuvenated, he begins spearhunting, making a mental note to gather seashells for plates by Peaceful Bay*

Galaxy Babe - eclectic editor

*splash*
Galaxy Babe dives into the beautiful, clear water and swims down to the sea-bed. She collects six large clam shells, swims back to the surface, and, making sure she is behind Ox's back, places them in the boat.

*Kiddo strolls along the bay, poking at the sand with his sharpaned stick. He still carries his coconut with him, thought not sure why*

*He sits in the sand. A small crab scurries by. The waves wash up to Kiddo's feet*

*Watching clumps sea weed wash around in the waves, he thinks of what he could possibly do to contribute to the tribe*

*Kiddo reached into his sandy pocket. He had suddenly remembered he had brought a pocket knife.*
Kiddo: Fat lot of good that does me. Actually, it could come in handy. Everyone else seems to have a knife of some sort. And it's definitely better than not having anything here like I thought.

Just looking - I found all sorts of things yesterday just looking. I'll be glad when this is all over. I miss my Mum, and my ted, and cocoa - haven't had a warm drink since this started. Sorry - I'm rabbiting on a bit. What do you miss most?

Kiddo: I miss not having sand in my hair and shorts. All I've mostly been thinking about is trying to fit in, to help out, and to get something to eat. Other than that (and the poisones snakes) I like it here (oh yeah there's that dead guy in the water supply too).

Well, my mum says you've always got to make the best of things - look on the cheerful side. My mum says there's always somebody worse of than yourself. My dad says I could wait a long time trying to find him, but I don't often understand my dad. Anyway, if you're feeling a bit low, look at it like this - you've cheered me up. Now we've met, what my mum said was right - there is someone worse off than me.
Anyway, you could always offer to polish their boots or something. They might like that. My mum says that if your boots shine then so does your .....
Oh! He's gone. And I was just going to show him my Guatemalan exhibition stamps - portraits of great drug barons.

The Journey Into The Long Night...(Day3)

* The night overtakes the day, in much the same way as sickness has overtaken Big 'Evil' Dan, Tweet & is starting to affect Kiddo as well... *

* The night is slept fitfully as the sick cough & sputter, nearly making sleep an impossibility... *

* Still, the rising Sun brings hope of a change of fortunes... *
