Excuse me, Titania, for answering so late. I am pretty sure that I have answered something a couple of weeks ago smiley - erm. However, now, after having enjoyed my holidays (in northern Denmark, BTW) smiley - biggrin, I can post again, hoping you might still be subscribed to the thread...

I always enjoy Sidra very much. It is made of apple (juice) similar to the french cidre or the Irish Cider. Sidra is not sparkling and mildly sour. The way you drink and serve it makes it special: It is pourred from Bottles or barrels into two glasses to be hold for away from the source. This procedure areates the drink, which then is "sparkling" a little bit for a short time, making the drink even milder. You pour and drink only one or two mouth full and empty the remainder into a pot in the corner. The same two glasses are filled and refilled for an entire group of people to drink.

The drink as well as the habit to drink it come from Asturias (Northern Coast). You drink it is apperitive or also during meals (patas).

Cheers, then! smiley - cheers
