I've been talking to Bels for the a day or so about become a Sub-Ed and my worries about it.
Spelling being one, although I'm already perfectly able to use spellcheckers and dictionaries with ease and on most occassions I can pick things up really well.
the other was the time scale given to actually edit entries. I was worried I may work to slowly and not get through entries very quickly, but Bels suggested I still apply as far as she saw I would do fine.
So here I am, applying.
I can't say I'll be the best Sub-ed in the world but I'm willing to put a lot of effort into it

Dear Em,
Thanks for your honesty. So long as you have an eye for detail and can use spellcheckers, I'm sure you'll be fine. You can also take small batches of entries so you can make sure that you're sending them in on time. If you'd like to have a go, then that would be lovely. I'll contact you when we have another round of recruitment, but in the meantime, spend some time in Peer Review so that you become familiar with the sorts of entries that are cropping up.
See you around
Anna

I shall go and hang around Peer Review ASAP
And I shall see how I get on and if things become too much I'll certainly tell you
Thanks.

I'll certainly let you know how I get on
It'll be nice to have someone to talk to if I'm feeling a little bogged down with it

It feels very strange to be applying for this, I've been wanting to for ages and didn't really want to until I got my higher results through and saw how I did in my English. (I got an A)
Feel a bit more confident/

Congratulations Em! Well done As Bels says having a certain initial hesitancy is probably a good thing. I'm glad he sent you over here

Thank you.
I'm glad I came over
I think being a Sub-Ed will be a good way of helping improve my computer and english skills before I go to university this time next year.

Hi, Em, glad you decided to go for it.
I should think it would be a great way to improve computer and English skills before going to uni. (I know I've learned a tremendous amount.) And these seem to be the key basic skills, whatever you are studying.
Hope it's not too long before I'm buying you a in the Subs' Bar. (I'll get one in for you too, Anna.)
Bels

I'm going to go and study art and design, most likely either graphic design or jewellery and metalwork...either way having good computer skills is a great stepping stone
at the Subs' Bar...how can I refuse
