Digital redneck

Greetings,

My nickname, such that it is,is Digital Redneck and I would greatly enjoy a chance at Sub-editing for h2g2.
While I am a fan of the guide I feel I must confess some personal motives for wanting to get involved. I am currently polishing my first novel and after months of failing to find a competent copy-editor I have come to the realization that I must become one myself. I've been activly studing the process and I feel I'm makeing good progress, but polishing the words of others would be a tremendously usefull exercise for me.
I'm an art school drop out, A journyman machinist, an ocasional contributor to a couple of depressingly insignificant local publications, and a trade school instructor of machine trades mathmatics as well as tool and die design. I have isolated pockets of knowledge ranging from Physics and mecanical enginering to art history and literature. I really think I could make a contribution.
When an opening is availible, please consider my application.

Awaiting your reply,
Digital redneck

Hullo Digital Redneck!

Personal motives are absolutely fine - subbing is definitely good experience for anyone who wants to get involved in the business full time. I also think you could make a great contribution. It would probably be worth you spending some time in Peer Review too, so that you can give feedback on entries, and see the sorts of pieces you'll be editing.

I'll contact you soon about subbing, in the meantime, have fun!

Anna
